Tarot Contemplation – Ten of Swords

Be careful about where you put your trust.  If you are inquiring whether you can believe what a person is telling you, or trust that a situation is stable, this card clearly answers “no”.  However, where one door closes, another door opens.  You are being guided to a situation that is better for you.  Trust yourself and trust in the Universe.  This card signals that your work situation is about to come to an end.  Your best bet is to get your ducks in a row and think through what you will do if you do indeed lose your job, for any reason.  You may have been treated badly by someone.  Don’t waste your time and precious energy plotting revenge.  Just get on with the next phase of your life.  Above all, don’t give up.  Something about the love situation you are in is not right.  Ask yourself a lot of questions, accept reality and don’t close your eyes to the truth.  You can’t force someone to love you or to behave respectfully.  If you’ve recently met someone new and you’ve been looking, keep looking.  In money matters, you might be facing disappointment.  This is definitely not a time to gamble.  Rather, it’s time to take stock.  If money has taken a downturn for you, or someone you trusted has not come through, be careful not to beat yourself up.  This is not the end of the world.  Try to think logically and rationally and strategize:  what now?  You may finally let go of a long, deeply held spiritual belief that has actually been standing in your way.  Again, you must be careful where you put your trust in terms of spiritual leaders who may seem to have your best interests in mind.  Discernment is required.
